Lee Roy Selmon's history combines the benefits of football family scholarship with social service. The first time the Selmons were raised by Lucious and Jessie Selmon at their Eufala farm. He was their youngest of nine children. Second, football was his favorite sport. He was one of three brothers who played for Oklahoma. All three were All-Americans. Lucious Jr. Dewey, Lee Roy, and Lucious Jr. Dewey started the 1973 season. Lee Roy was named the most effective offensive lineman of the national by Outland Lombardi, Outland and the Outland Awards. Over the course of his three years as a starter Oklahoma recorded a record of 32-1-1 and secured two national championships. On his third scholarship, he was named an National Football Foundation Scholar-Athlete in 1975. Selmon holds a bachelor's degree in the field of education. Fourth Service in the college Lee Roy devoted ten hours every week for volunteer activities. In Tampa He played with the Buccaneers over nine years and was an all-pro. He also began a career in business. In 1988 he took on the role of account representative for Tampa's First Florida Bank. He as well worked for the following groups: Special Olympics Easter Seals Baptist Church Ronald McDonald House United Negro College Fund South Florida Institute Black Life Hall of Fame Bowl Committee. This is why Lee Roy was named one of the top 10 notable young men of the nation by the Junior Chamber of Commerce in 1982. Lee Roy was 6'2" tall and weighed 265 pounds at the time was playing college football. The year 1975 was the first time he was the captain of the team. He was named the associate director of athletics at the University of South Florida, in 1993. It was the College Football Hall of Fame honored him in the year the year 1988. GTE Academic All-America Hall of Fame in 1994. Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1995. In 1989 The Oklahoma City Chapter National Football Foundation presented its Distinguished American Award Mr. Lucious Senior. Henry Bellmon, the governor of Oklahoma presented it.
