MANUEL-TURIZO

Manuel Turizo (full name Manuel Turizo Zapata) is an urbano and reggaeton singer songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from Colombia whose trademark is his smooth buttery tenor singing voice. His global success has seen his rise into the mainstream of Latin music. In the year 2017, his 2016 hit Una Lady Como Tu won the Colombian Kids Choice Award Favorite Song. He released his debut long-player ADN for Sony's Medellin-based subsidiary La Industria Inc. The album peaked at the top of the charts, being ranked eighth in the Top Latin Albums chart. Following that year, he teamed up with Ozuna for the creation of Vaina Loca which was an album that was a Top Five hit. In the year 2020, he worked with Noriel on Mala Influencia and released the album Dopamina within the year following. He appeared in 2021 in a duo performance with TINI for her hit streaming single Maldita Foto. The hit song La Bachata from 2000 was made available in 2023. Turizo was raised in a musical family, his older brother and mother are also musicians. According to him, music was a fundamental part of his life. He began learning to play the saxophone and guitar as well as the ukulele, and keyboard when he was the age of a small child. Though his original goal was becoming a veterinarian, his brother Julian convinced to him take singing lessons from a Cuban.
